Amazon's Early Routing Program Expansion

Previously a pilot program with select vendors, Amazon has now decided to permanently roll out their early routing program to all vendors. Please reach out to Global Overview for any support during this change.

Per Amazon:

This means you can continue routing 2 days prior to FRD (Freight Ready Date) for your orders. We are also excited to announce that starting 1/21/20 you will receive all carrier (TL, LTL and SP) information 1-business day before the actual pickup day.

Below is an example of the flow (Note: your company's actual Order Dates and Ship Windows may be different than illustrated below):

Monday (Day 0): Amazon PO drops. The ship window opens on Monday and closes on Thursday (or whatever your current ship window length is). You confirm the items and quantities you can ship. Tuesday (Day 1): You provide shipment details (number of cartons, pallets, etc.) and confirm a Thursday pick-up. Wednesday (Day 2): You will receive carrier information and prep shipment.  Thursday (Day 3): Your shipment is picked up → you have to request a Thursday pick up no later than Tuesday 11:59PM PST. In case you want the pick up to be on Wednesday, you will have to submit the routing request by Monday.
