Amazon's FBA Summer Melt Program

Starting May 15, meltable inventory remaining at Amazon Fulfillment Centers will be disposed of. To avoid the disposal of your meltable FBA inventory, submit a removal order before May 15, 2020.

A per-item fee, as outlined here, applies to removals/disposals.

"Meltable" refers to heat-sensitive grocery, health, and personal care products that are eaten or swallowed. Meltable items include chocolate, gummies, and probiotics.

Products in Amazon fulfillment centers must be able to withstand a minimum temperature of 50°F and a maximum temperature of 120°F during the product’s shelf life without hurting its quality.

Box markings must not display storage temperature requirements unless those requirements explicitly specify a range of 50-120°F.

Note: If you believe your product should be exempt from the meltable category, provide a letter from the manufacturer confirming that the ASIN can be stored at a maximum temperature of 120°F for extended periods. Send this letter to Seller Support.

GO recommends that clients withhold FBA shipments of meltable product for the duration of the restrictions. Shipments of meltable goods during this time could result in poor customer feedback and disposal of the goods by Amazon.
