Amazon's 2025 U.S. Referral and FBA Fees Update

To prioritize simplicity and stability, minimize operational burden and costs, and drive growth for brands, Amazon will not increase U.S. referral or FBA fees, nor introduce new fee types, in 2025. They will also reduce certain fees and provide additional benefits to support new selection growth.

Here’s an overview of the changes coming in 2025:

  • Effective January 15, 2025, inbound placement service fees for large bulky-size products will be reduced, averaging $0.58 per unit for minimal shipment splits.

  • Inbound placement service fees will be waived for new parent ASINs that qualify for the FBA New Selection Program and are included in shipments created between December 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025.

    • These items will be exempt from inbound placement service fees for up to the first 100 units per new parent ASIN.

    • For more details, visit the Inbound placement service fee page.

  • Beginning January 15, 2025, Amazon will introduce additional incentives for adding new selection in their store. These discounts will be accessible on the Seller Benefits page for eligible sellers and products.

    • New Seller Incentives and FBA New Selection programs will be enhanced with increased fee discounts to further support targeted segments of new selection growth.

    • Amazon will regularly refresh discounts to include everyday essentials, high-demand products with limited selection in their store, and popular brands where customers want greater global availability.

Our GO team is thrilled that these fees won’t take a massive toll in 2025. If brands play their cards right, they can redirect dollars that would have gone to fulfillment fees toward other critical business areas. For instance, GO’s storage and shipping optimizations in combination with these 2025 updates can drive significant cost savings, enabling brands to reallocate dollars into initiatives like impactful marketing campaigns.
